A carpentry workshop dating back to 1890 in the heart of Oberwil provides space for building guitars and basses, a repair workshop, and a cozy showroom with a small stage, offering a platform for all kinds of vibrating strings and souls. Founded by guitar builders Magor Szilagyi (Mag O'Lee Guitars) and Andy Hidber (Magneton Guitars), Barn is now home to a wide variety of creative minds in the field of guitars and woodworking. A good musical instrument needs care and attention. Our workshop has everything you need to get your instrument back in shape.
Perhaps you have an instrument whose sound you are not 100% satisfied with?
Often, changing the pickups or hardware can bring about exactly the right tonal change. There are thousands of different pickups available, and we can't know them all—but we do have a range of first-class hand-wound replacement pickups whose sound and characteristics we really know and can recommend to you.
We often carry out the following repairs:
• Installing new, better pickups
• Dressing the neck and frets
• Repairing the electronics
What we only offer in exceptional cases are makeovers, such as completely sanding down the finish and completely repainting the instrument. In most cases, it is more worthwhile to replace the neck or body with a new, better one (also painted by us). We have a large number of replacement parts in stock.

Guitar Barn is not a store in the traditional sense; we are a workshop with a showroom and stage.
This means that we are almost always there, but we do not have regular
